Faixa Preta Bound

I proudly train under Master Lloyd Irvin in Camp Springs, MD. I have dedicated my LIFE to earning my Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt and winning the Mundials (BJJ World Championships) at the Black Belt level. I plan to hold more World Championship Gold medals than any other competitor the World has seen.

Why stop there? In Mixed Martial Arts, I will hold the Strikeforce Women's 135 and 145 lb title belts. At the same time.

Is that cocky? Perhaps... But I do know, I will not reach my goals alone. I have God and the support of my family, my friends, my teammates, and of course, Master Lloyd. All I need now is you.

The purpose of this blog is for you. For you to get a closer look into the life of SarJ. For you to see the growth of a Champion.

And uh... ya know, maybe you'll get to know me well enough to send donations!

Pan Ams Training

Pan Ams is right around the corner!  I'm very excited.  The hardcore training at Team Lloyd Irvin has begun and it will continue all the way through until Mundials!

Yesterday morning, fellow Blue belt Tracey Goodell and I did about an hour of drilling.  Then we went to live matches.  Live matches are very important for getting your mind right.  It's not like rolling or sparring.  You treat the match like it's an actual tournament match.  It's also good for learning how to keep track of your points without looking at a scoreboard, working your gameplan, and knowing the rules!

Today is Day 2, and we had a lot of live stand up today, working throws and takedowns.  I'm feeling super GREAT!  My weight is on point, my technique and conditioning are improving everyday!  I'm ready to take on Pans, then knock out NY Open, and of course, finally, the Worlds!

I'm so happy to have such a great coach in Master Lloyd and great training partners.  We have a CRAZY team heading out for Pans and Worlds.  Expect to see a lot of Team Lloyd Irvin members on that top podium!

I look forward to more hard training tonight!
